Sheboygan County EDC Announces Nation-Wide Director Search
The Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC) announces a national search for a new Executive Director. According to SCEDC Chairman Gary Dulmes, “The SCEDC is moving quickly to find a new Executive Director. After more than two years of leading the business retention, expansion, and attraction activities of the SCEDC, Executive Director Patrick Drinan has accepted a Regional Account Manager position with the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC). “

Ben Salzmann Selected for Sheboygan County “Economic Driver of the Year” Award
*Sheboygan, WI -* At its 2011 Annual Meeting, the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC) presented its second annual “Sheboygan County Economic Driver of the Year” Award to Ben Salzmann, President and CEO of ACUITY, located in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch was on hand to help the SCEDC recognize and congratulate Mr. Salzmann, and convey the award.
Moegenburg Joins SCEDC Board of Directors
The Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC) has recently appointed Michael Moegenburg of ACUITY, A Mutual Insurance Company, to its Board of Directors. Mr. Moegenburg currently serves as the Director of Commercial Lines Product Development at ACUITY, and has been employed by the company since 1980. He holds a BBA in Finance and Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s School of Business.
Survey Indicates 1 in 3 Sheboygan County Businesses Plan to Hire
An active Business Retention and Expansion effort has been ongoing in Sheboygan County since 2008. This proactive effort involves visiting local company officials and asking their opinions regarding area business conditions. Surveys help to build relationships with business owners and allocate resources to help improve conditions for existing local businesses. Between January and July 2011, the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC) and its volunteers completed 72 business retention visits with area companies. The SCEDC focused its efforts on companies with 5 to 50 employees, in high-growth industry sectors as defined by the Bureau of Labor and Statistics or area manufacturers. The 72 companies visited reported having 1,274 employees. All individual company information is kept strictly confidential, and information is only reported in an aggregated format.
Morgan Aircraft Secures Commitment from Wisconsin EDC: Company Poised to Grow Aerospace Industry in Sheboygan County
*Oostburg, WI –* Founded in 2005 with much fanfare to develop, produce, and market an industry-changing technology: a Powered-Lift category aircraft, capable of vertical take-off and landing (VOTL), Morgan Aircraft LLC has quietly made progress towards completing its technical validation process and significant engineering advances in both the airframe and power train configurations.
