Lou Gentine, Chairman & CEO of Sargento Foods Inc., Receives 2012 NCI Laureate Award

(La Quinta, Calif. – January 19, 2012) The National Cheese Institute has bestowed its highest honor, the NCI Laureate Award, on Lou Gentine, chairman and CEO of Sargento Foods Inc., Plymouth, Wis. The award was presented this week to Gentine during a special ceremony at the International Dairy Foods Association's 2012 Dairy Forum by NCI Vice Chairman Mike Reidy, who is senior vice president, supply chain and corporate affairs, for Leprino Foods Company.

The Year in Business: Signs of life County's economy picks up a bit in 2011

It wasn't always smooth, but the Sheboygan County economy continued to show signs of life in 2011.  Area employers continued to slowly add jobs, which helped bring Sheboygan's unemployment rate down to its lowest level in nearly three years and for the first time since the recession took hold, the year passed without any large-scale layoffs or factory closures.
