Wisconsin Power and Light to freeze rates for two years
Wisconsin Power and Light Co., the Madison-based utility of Alliant Energy Corp., will freeze its electrical rates for the next two years and reduce its gas rates by $13.1 million in 2013 under a request approved Friday by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin.
Lakeshore Industry Cluster Initiative Kicks-Off August 28
Manitowoc, WI: There is an exciting collaborative effort underway to kick off a Lakeshore Industry Cluster Initiative for the region. The Economic Development Corporation of Manitowoc County is leading this effort jointly with economic development organizations in Manitowoc, Door, Calumet, Kewaunee, and Sheboygan Counties. They have scheduled to launch the process with a half-day kick-off event on the morning of Tuesday, August 28 at Fox Hills Resort (Mishicot). The Cluster Initiative engages businesses in Industry Cluster Networks to analyze and leverage assets and opportunities for additional business growth and development. The targeted industries that will be the initial focus of the Lakeshore Industry Cluster Initiative will be Manufacturing, Food Processing/Agriculture, Energy and Tourism.

Students of the new Lakeshore Culinary Institute at City Streets Riverside are doing something no other aspiring chefs in the area have ever had the chance to do. That's because the laboratory kitchen housed inside the former restaurant offers a unique combination of old-fashioned culinary education and hard-to-come-by practical experience.
