Expansion Plans at Road America
An expansion project is underway at Road America in Elkhart Lake. The historic racing venue will add a new retail and visitor center and rebuild the existing main gate and winner's circle.
Track officials said in a news release that the project is aimed at improving the overall fan experience, and it was designed to blend with the existing architecture and rural feel of the 4-mile, 14-turn road course, which is located on a sprawling 640-acre swath of land.
"We are very excited about the new retail and visitors' center that will enable customers to experience Road America in a whole new way," Road America President and General Manager George Bruggenthies said in the release. "Our hope is to attract individuals and families from across the nation and enhance their visit, because as we like to say at Road America, come for the experience and stay for the race."
