Sheboygan County administrator: Let's focus on county-wide economic development

Economic development is essential to create more opportunities and a better life for our family, friends and neighbors, and it is important we look at the county as a whole.

Economics do not follow municipal boundaries. In other words, what is good for the city of Sheboygan, Sheboygan Falls or Plymouth is not bad for the village of Oostburg or Howards Grove.

For example, if a company in Plymouth adds 100 jobs, approximately 40 people will live and work in Plymouth. An additional 40 people will reside and commute from somewhere else in the county, and approximately 20 employees will commute from outside Sheboygan County.
