Sts. Cyril & Methodius convent removed to make way for housing project
The city took the first step this week toward a new apartment complex in downtown Sheboygan, though there’s still some details to work out before development would begin.
Last January, the city sold land on South Eighth Street to Smet Investments for $10 with the understanding that the company would invest $2.5 million in the site to build market-rate apartments with up to 48 units. While the company originally said it hoped to start work on the project in October, it had to work out financing issues for the project before it could move forward.
