Sheboygan County forms Innovation Task Force

Sheboygan, Wis. – Following on the heels of the FreshTech Innovation Summit, the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC) in coordination with the City of Sheboygan has formed a task force comprised of key stakeholders to implement the concepts arising from the summit.

“We have heard from over 150 employees of Sheboygan County on what they feel is important to attract and retain professionals as well as encourage county-wide innovation and entrepreneurship,” stated Joe Sheehan, Executive Director of the SCEDC.  “The next step is to have our employers prioritize and reconcile what our local professionals want with what we know are best-practices.”

The goal of the task force is to provide the community with a 3-year road map to develop the programming and coordination necessary to catalyze, support and invigorate the local talent and innovation ecosystem.   

The organizations that have volunteered their time and talent to lead the effort are St. Nicholas Hospital, Vollrath, Kohler Co., Bertram Wireless, Millipore Sigma, Sargento, Alaark Tooling & Automation, Curt G. Joa, Alaark Tooling and Automation, Bemis Manufacturing Company, HiQo Solutions, Sheboygan Area School District, Lakeshore Technical College, Lakeland University, University of Wisconsin at Green Bay, Sheboygan County, Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce, Sheboygan Squared, Coastal Young Professional Network and Inspire Sheboygan County.  

 

The Innovation Task Force will be professional facilitated by Erin Price, VP of Strategic Planning at Sargento. Task Force results are anticipated to be completed by this summer, 2019.
