Maya's Place Celebrates 1 Year in Business
SHEBOYGAN, WI— The Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC) and Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at UW-Green Bay aim to provide a wide variety of services, resources, and expertise to help encourage entrepreneurial opportunities in Sheboygan County, including businesses that offer unique services and experiences to the community such as Maya’s Place LLC.
Maya’s Place celebrates one year in business, providing various services to meet the needs of pets and their owners. These include dog daycare, animal boarding, training and grooming. The facility also features a retail section with premium pet foods, toys, and other essentials. Spanning approximately 6,000 square feet, Maya’s Place includes three large outdoor fenced play areas, over 20 private indoor boarding runs, and spacious indoor play areas with climate control for year-round comfort.
“Our goal is to create a safe and fun environment for pets in Sheboygan County,” says owner Michael Demcak. “We have a team of experienced staff who are passionate about providing excellent care for your pets.”
Maya’s Place is named in memory of the owners’ first dog, Maya, who inspired their passion for animal care. Co-owner Skylar has been rescuing and caring for various animals, including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and chickens since she was a child. Throughout her career, she has held roles such as dog handler, groomer, veterinary technician, dog trainer, and manager.
“Our mission is to offer the best care possible for pets in our community,” adds Skylar. “We want to earn the trust and respect of our community by providing compassionate care and building lasting relationships with our clients.”
The team at Maya’s Place is excited to be part of the Sheboygan community and connect with local residents and businesses. They are committed to treating every pet with the highest level of care and ensuring a safe, enjoyable experience for all pets.
Maya’s Place opened on June 19, 2023, next to the Human Society and the new public dog park. “We are excited to be a part of the community and connect with our local residents and business owners,” Michael said.
Michael worked with Ray York and the SCEDC from the beginning of their business planning process. “I would encourage any entrepreneurs beginning new businesses in the Sheboygan County area to reach out to the SCEDC. They provide a full and free service with a mission of helping you be successful,” Michael said. “Overall, we had a great experience with the SCEDC. I would highly recommend any new business owners to the SCEDC for their experience and passion.”
