Someplace Better highlights essential job opportunities
SCEDC - A key mission of the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC) is to create proactive workforce recruitment initiatives in partnership with area -employers. “As we face this changing economy, SomeplaceBetter.org, our online county- wide workforce development tool has been committed to helping you stay connected to companies hiring in the area for essential job opportunities”, stated Joe Sheehan, SCEDC Executive Director, "we are here for all of Sheboygan County.”
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and government restrictions, there have been multiple companies required to temporarily close doors resulting in a downpour of unemployment claims from laid-off workers. Despite these circumstances, there has been a significant need for in-demand employment opportunities from some of our local employers.
SomeplaceBetter has identified multiple businesses within our county that are actively hiring. These employers include Great Lakes Cheese, Piggly Wiggly Midwest, Johnsonville, and Rocky Knoll among others who are looking for immediate hires to join their team. Some of these companies are adding a significant number of positions that require no previous experience - offering a glimmer of hope to those looking to get back to work as soon as possible.
