Sheboygan County (May 3, 2018) Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC) is participating in National Economic Development Week; this year’s recognition will run from May 6-10, 2018. National Economic Development Week (NEDW) was created and is coordinated by The International Economic Development Council (IEDC), the largest professional membership organization for economic developers. It is being held during the week of the organization’s 92nd anniversary as the largest professional membership organization for economic developers.
SHEBOYGAN BREAKS GROUND ON NEW 126 ACRE ENTERPRISE CAMPUS
SHEBOYGAN, WISCONSIN - City officials celebrated the momentous time in the future of the City of Sheboygan with a groundbreaking of the new SouthPointe Enterprise Campus. The new campus will provide “shovel-ready” developable sites ranging from two acres to 40 acres. “In order to continue our long history of the family owned companies and be competitive in the regional economy, it was very important for the City to invest in a new enterprise campus,” stated Michael Vandersteen, Mayor, City of Sheboygan. SouthPointe Enterprise Campus (Phase 1) consists of the 162 acres with 132 developable acres available for new industrial and light manufacturing related businesses. The new campus will include 11,000 lineal feet of the sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and water main. Approximately 8,000 lineal feet of new streets including Horizon Drive, South Taylor Drive and SouthPointe Drive will be constructed. Over 700,000 cubic yards of the grading will be completed over this construction season. PTS Contractors, Green Bay, WI, were awarded the $10.5 million contract. The project will be substantially complete by December 1, 2018.
